Forte ITM – Woodwind Teacher – 2023

Fixed term, full-time for Terms 2 and 3, 2023

The Forte Unit of Itinerant Teachers of Music (based at Te Puna Wai o Waipapa –  Hagley College) provide students with high quality music tuition within participating schools across the Canterbury Region.

We seek a qualified, highly effective and inspiring Woodwind Teacher. Applicants are preferred to have :

  • skills and experience in teaching a wide range of styles;
  • a good understanding of the Music curriculum (Years 9-13);
  • the ability to assist with NCEA performance preparation and assessment
  • the ability to lead large and small ensembles as required
  • flexibility within repertoire and a willingness to work with the varying requirements of a diverse range of music departments are expected.

The successful applicant needs to have current NZ teacher registration (preferred) or a Limited Authority to Teach (LAT).

A current driver’s licence and own transport are also essential for travelling between allocated schools (a travel allowance will be paid).

Te Puna Wai o Waipapa – Hagley College is seeking a Science kaiako who loves working with young people and can develop positive, mana-enhancing relationships with ākonga, whānau, and staff.

We require a fixed term, part-time [up to .24 FTTE – 6 hours] passionate teacher who is always looking to improve their practice. If you are a future focused and innovative kaiako, come and join our Science Department from Term 2, 2023. Please state specialist subject areas.

Attendance and Wellbeing Administrator – Part Time (Maternity Leave Cover)

Te Puna Wai o Waipapa – Hagley College is situated in the centre of Christchurch and draws students from diverse backgrounds, ethnic groupings, age and learning abilities.

We are seeking an energetic support person to work along side our Guidance Counsellors, busy Senior Management Team and Advisors. You will need to be a person who likes working with adolescents and families from varying backgrounds.  You will be required to carry out regular checking and ongoing monitoring of student attendance.

Excellent time management and organisational skills are a must along with the ability to maintain and improve existing systems, which will have a positive impact on the retention of students.

The position is fixed term, part time – term time only, to cover Maternity Leave and is 25 hours per week – 8.30am – 2.00pm – Monday to Friday commencing on 1 May 2023 until 13 December 2023.

Te Puna Wai o Waipapa – Hagley College is looking for a Deputy Principal to join our Senior Leadership Team. This is an exciting opportunity to lead teaching and learning within a large, co-educational, diverse Secondary School in Ōtautahi, Christchurch. We are seeking a suitably qualified teacher-leader who can demonstrate proven experience in leading schoolwide teaching and learning initiatives which have resulted in positive outcomes for ākonga.
