Hagley Jazz
Jazz is a part of Hagley's After 3 programme, it is night class offering a creative, inclusive and supportive learning environment.
Whatever your skill level, you will embark on a fun yet challenging musical journey. You will be assigned a band and get to perform gigs at a bar every third week throughout the year.
You will also be put in the recording studio twice, culminating in the production of a CD. You will grow immensely as a musician, meet some great people and have a wonderful time.
You will study:
- Performance – Group
- Improvisation
- Aural and Theory Skills
- History and Repertoire of Jazz
- Instrumental Skills – tuition on your instrument
Qualification & Pathways
- Certificate in Jazz and Improvisation
- This certificate gives you an enhanced pathway into a degree course at CPIT
Entry Requirements
- An interest in Jazz as a musical genre
- Entry is by audition and you will need to play or sing one piece, not necessarily of the jazz genre
