Fine Arts to Uni Pathway

Part-time programme

Semester 1 from February

The course offers an opportunity to learn and develop your knowledge and skills as you prepare the requirements for a Fine Arts application at the University of Canterbury.

• Develop skills and techniques
• Knowledge of conventions
• Theme planning and development

Once the course has finished, students will have the following to contribute towards the requirements for BFA portfolio application:

• 2 A4 drawings
• 16 A5 compositional sketches
• 6 A4 paintings/prints
• 2 A3 paintings/prints

In 2024, sem 2 begins the week of 24th June; term 3 runs 22nd July – 27th September; term 4 runs 14th – 31st October.

For those over 19, the cost for the course is $100 and you will be required to complete a MOJ check before enrolment.

Successful completion of this course at Hagley can have credit transferred for 15 credits in the Certificate of University Preparation (CUP).
