Develop skills and knowledge in preparing work towards UC BFA application portfolio.

The course offers an opportunity to learn and develop your knowledge and skills as you prepare the requirements for a Fine Arts application at the University of Canterbury.
- Develop skills and techniques
- Knowledge of conventions
- Theme planning and development
Once the course has finished, students will have the following to contribute towards the requirements for BFA portfolio application:
- 2 A4 drawings
- 16 A5 compositional sketches
- 6 A4 paintings/prints
- 2 A3 paintings/prints
In 2025, classes are on Tuesdays 8.30-9.25, Wednesdays 1.35-2.30, and Fridays 10.40-12.30. The course for semester 2 will be starting with orientation classes the week of 23rd June, a two week break for the school holidays, then classes resuming the week of 14th July.
For those over 19, the cost for the course is $120 and you will be required to complete a MOJ check before enrolment.
Successful completion of this course at Hagley can have credit transferred for 15 credits in the Certificate of University Preparation (CUP).
