Students under 19 years (on 1 January 2009)
Year 11 (third year at secondary school)
Must study a full-time programme of 24 hours must include
English, Mathematics and one Science subject.
Year 12 and Year 13
Must study at least 20 hours. Maximum of 24 hours. English is compulsory
until after the completion of Year 12 (4 years at secondary school). If you wish
to go on to university please read the regulations in the handbook. Part-time programmes can be taken only after individual authorisation. Apply in writing
to the Principal with evidence of reason (medical, employment), documented parental approval and preferred programme of study.
Adult students over 19 years (on 1 January 2009)
Adults may choose a programme that suits their needs, full-time or part-time (maximum study 5 subjects). Adults must have, or be studying towards,
minimum literacy and numeracy requirements. Adults will need to present
proof of identity such as a driver’s licence, birth certificate, passport,
Community Services Card etc.
NESB students
Students from non-English speaking backgrounds wishing to study at a
senior level must have proof of their English language level or sit a language
test on enrolment.
Multi-level study
Students may study at more than one level if they meet the entry requirements
of the subject. All national qualifications can be passed in individual subjects.
Correspondence School
Correspondence study is available to students who meet certain criteria.
Study is not available for any subject that is taught at Hagley in the day school.
