Step Up
NCEA Level 3
Step Up is a 15 week NCEA Level 3 programme suited to students who are seriously committed to going to university. It is ideal for students who have had a GAP year or for adult students preparing for university. Adult students who study at Hagley first have a much higher success rate than those who do not.
Step Up is an intensive course where the aim is for students not just to pass, but to gain as many merits and excellences as possible. Step Up starts Term 3 and runs in the afternoon and early evening over school term times. The course finishes early November. At least 14 NCEA credits are available in each subject.
Step Up is offered to those who:
- have appropriate self management, work and study skills
- are at an appropriate academic level. In addition to achievement in NCEA, we also recognise prior learning, aptitude or potential to succeed. Students who have not previously gained NCEA have entered and succeeded in the Step Up programme.
Entry requirements: Prior study at Level 2, Level 2 Literacy or pass a Hagley assessment.
Fee: Varies depending on the programme and your circumstances.
