Gain an introduction to art making techniques. A variety of approaches and techniques will be explored throughout the year including drawing, painting, print and mixed media. Experimentation is encouraged and inspiration gained from artist examples throughout the modules.
Module 1: An Introduction to Drawing
• Learn the basic skills needed to produce observational drawing.
• Develop an understanding of ‘picture making’ through the use of a variety of media and colour.
Module 2: Painting and Wet Media
• Develop your drawing and art making skills.
• Gain an introduction to wet media techniques, including ink and acrylics.
• Develop an understanding of techniques through artists’ work, and apply this knowledge to your own.
Module 3: Mixed Media
• Enhance your work by creating meaning and context in your work.
• Experiment with compositional elements to broaden your visual vocabulary.
• Explore the idea of sustainability and recycling in art.
Module 4: A Basic Introduction to Print Techniques
• Gain an understanding of basic print making techniques.
