After Three gives people the opportunity to study a wide range of Hagley’s courses away from their daytime commitments. To minimise barriers for adult learners there is no enrolment fee to study in the After Three programme.

Is After Three for me?

Courses are particularly suitable for adult learners who may be looking to transition into a new career, wishing to upskill, or just wanting to learn a new skill that they’ve always talked about. Your reasons no doubt will be as diverse as the subjects we offer.

When are the classes on?

• All After Three courses run for a full school year. If places become available new enrolments may be accepted throughout the year.
• Most courses run once a week from Monday to Thursday across four modules (one per school term) throughout the year, with most classes starting at 6.00pm. Where courses are delivered at different times or days this will be detailed in the course information provided. On enrolment you will receive a letter detailing your course timetable and starting times.

• Additional classes or special activities such as field trips may be scheduled throughout the year. Your teacher will provide details regarding this at the start of your course.

Pathways to Further Learning 

After Three programmes aim to raise your awareness about possible pathways and choices available to you for further learning, as well as to prepare you to take the next step in your learning. Several of these opportunities may lead to senior courses at Hagley; others may lead to tertiary courses at CPIT, university, or courses offered by other providers. Often your After Three course will shadow the broad skills or understandings needed in the further learning pathway. Your teacher will also raise your awareness about where you might complete further learning in this area and encourage you to take these steps.
