Course Components

• Learn more about the complexities of Japanese culture and the norms of behaviour in Japanese society
• Develop your skills to hold a conversation and communicate on a range of topics such as health, travel, giving and receiving, describing people and places
• Extend your skills to be able to communicate on matters such as weather, invitations, housing, daily life and shopping
• Take the opportunity, if you wish, to supplement your knowledge of the Hiragana and Katakana scripts with additional Kanji to enable you to communicate in simple Japanese

Pathways

Embark on Ara Japanese course (Diploma/Degree) or University of Canterbury 100 level course in Japanese language and Japanese studies.
